Sanford Health updates visitor policy in Sioux Falls Region – KIWARadio.com

Sioux Falls, South Dakota — Sanford Health is changing its visitor restriction policy once again in the Sioux Falls region. This change affects Sanford’s hospitals throughout South Dakota, northwest Iowa, and southwest Minnesota.

According to a news release from Sanford Health, each adult patient is allowed two visitors at a time. Visitors are able to rotate throughout the day, which they were unable to do the past month while we saw the Omicron variant surge in our region. They can visit between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily, but times may vary at some facilities.

The visitor policy for COVID-19 patients who are in isolation will not change, according to Sanford. COVID-19 adult and pediatric patients are allowed two visitors per day between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. But those visitors cannot rotate throughout the day.

Non COVID-19 patients being treated at Sanford Children’s Hospital, including the NICU, are permitted two visitors at a time and may rotate up to six visitors from a predesignated list. Parents and guardians can visit 24/7, but others can visit from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily.

Sanford says all visitors will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms and must check in to receive an ID sticker to identify themselves as a visitor. They must also wear a face mask at all times. Sanford Health strongly recommends all visitors have a COVID-19 vaccine before visiting.

And, according to Sanford’s news release, if any visitors are not feeling well, they should stay home. If they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, they should test right away.
