    Saudi Arabia hikes oil prices as crude surges on Ukraine war

    Saudi Arabia raised oil prices for all regions after crude surged in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to more than $115 a barrel, reports Bloomberg.

    State-controlled Saudi Aramco hiked its Arab Light crude for next month’s shipments to Asia to $4.95 a barrel above the benchmark it uses. That’s an increase of $2.15 a barrel from March and the highest premium for the key grade since Bloomberg started compiling data in 2000. The energy company had been expected to raise pricing by $1.70, according to a survey of traders and refiners.

    India reported 5,921 new case of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. With 63,878 active cases in the country, the caseload has further dipped to 0.15%.  India further logged 289 deaths in last 24 hours, taking the total Covi-19 death toll to 5,14,878. The recovery rate remains stable at 98.65%.

    China’s military budget to increase by 7.1% in 2022

    China’s military budget, the second largest in the world after the United States, is set to increase by 7.1% in 2022, Beijing announced on Saturday as per news agency AFP.

    Some 1.45 trillion yuan ($230 billion) has been set aside for national defence, a government budget report said, as part of a rise in spending for departments to “ensure that they are able to perform their duties”.

    Pakistan continues to remain on FATF’s grey list

    The Paris-based Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has once again retained Pakistan on the increased monitoring list, also known as the “grey list” and called the country to work on “complex money laundering investigations and prosecutions.” 

    This decision was made after the conclusion of the four-day FATF Plenary from March 1-4, reports ANI.

Foreign medical graduates allowed to complete internships in India

  • The National Medical Commission said that the application for completing the internship may be processed by the state medical councils if the candidates have cleared the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination.

Sexual assault charges: 4 cases registered against popular tattoo artist

Kochi police commissioner Nagaraju Chakilam told the HT that four women came forward to register formal complaints after enough persuasion and police have started a search for the accused.
