New scholarships for OSU Newark STEM
First-year students at OSU Newark pursuing eligible STEM degrees (science, technology, engineering, and math) may apply for new scholarships worth up to $5,000 per semester. Applications for high-achieving, low-income students are due April 1.
This National Science Foundation Scholarship is distributed by Ohio Means Science (OHMS), a new initiative designed to support central Ohio’s next generation of well-educated STEM professionals entering high-demand fields.
OHMS scholars will also attend short, no-cost immersive research opportunities before the beginning of each fall semester, plus ongoing STEM-centered activities and undergraduate research. OHMS scholars may also engage in optional summer internships in a field of interest.
The 15 total scholarships will be awarded based on financial need––students must be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant (see FAFSA).
