Fiture Interactive Fitness Mirror Features AI Movement Tracking – PCMag

From the Mirror to the Echelon Reflect, the Forme to the NordicTrack Vault, there’s no shortage of interactive fitness mirrors on the market.

A new one called Fiture aims to outshine them all. The $1,495 device leverages artificial intelligence technology and smart motion sensors to track your movements, provide real-time feedback about your form, and count your reps as you follow workouts on its integrated display. Like most smart home gym machines, it requires a membership ($39 per month), which gives you unlimited access to the company’s fitness class library and the ability to create up to seven user profiles on the machine.

Standing 43 inches tall and measuring just 1.3 inches thick, the Fiture can be wall mounted, or simply lean against the wall. It looks nearly identical to the Mirror, and comes in five colors: gold, green, blue, black, and silver.

Fiture also appears to be inspired by the Tempo Studio, a strength training-focused interactive home gym with sophisticated form-tracking and rep-counting software. Similar to the Tempo Studio, the Fiture uses a motion-tracking camera to scan several skeletal points on your body to analyze movements and offer corrections, if necessary. Fiture says its system can recognize more than 1,000 different fitness movements spanning HIIT, strength, cardio, dance, and more. The Peloton Guide, another smart strength training device, also uses a camera to track movement.

The Fiture supports gesture and voice control, so you can simply raise your hand to start a class, for instance. It also connects to a companion mobile app (available for iOS and Android) to let you schedule workouts, view workout summaries, and create custom classes. It supports Bluetooth-enabled earphones and heart rate monitors, including the Apple Watch.

Fiture says it already has a “wide variety” of classes for all fitness levels in its workout library, including strength, boxing, HIIT, cardio sculpt, barre, pilates, stretching, yoga, medication, and more. The company plans to add 20 new classes each week. The membership also includes multi-week training programs, timed endurance challenges, and global leaderboards.

The Fiture shows promise, but we’ll reserve judgment until we try it out; stay tuned for a full review.
